It's not Pole Fitness, it's Pole Dance 🪩

It's not Pole Fitness, it's Pole Dance 🪩

Let’s get straight to it—we don’t call what we do ā€œpole fitnessā€ because pole dance is so much more than just a workout.

At Elements, we teach spins, tricks, choreography, contemporary movement, heels, and even stripper-style workshops led by actual strippers. We also run strength & conditioning and flexibility training—because yes, getting stronger makes everything feel smoother. But here’s the thing: pole is not just about building muscle.

Calling it ā€œpole fitnessā€ erases (or at least shies away from) the art, history, and cultural roots of pole dance—and we’re not about that.

Pole Dance is More Than a Workout

Yes, pole will get you strong as hell. Yes, it’s an amazing way to move your body. But when you focus only on the fitness aspect, you lose sight of everything else that makes it so incredible.

šŸ’ƒ It’s self-expression. Pole dance is a creative outlet, a form of movement that allows you to tell a story, feel something, or just have fun. It’s dance—not just drills.

šŸ”„ It’s confidence-building. When you learn a trick, execute a spin, or nail a routine, you feel powerful—not just ā€œfit.ā€

šŸŽ It’s an art form. Strippers pioneered pole dance. The moves we celebrate today didn’t come from a gym class—they came from the strip club stage. Calling it ā€œpole fitnessā€ tries to sanitise and separate it from its origins, and we’re not here for that.

šŸ’„ It’s all styles, not just strength. Tricks and conditioning are just one piece of the puzzle. Pole dance also includes flow, musicality, sensuality, storytelling, and movement quality—things that don’t fit neatly into the ā€œfitnessā€ box.

Let’s Remove the Stigma Around ā€˜Pole Dance’

For a long time, people (and even studios) have been afraid to call it pole dance—as if the word itself carries shame. But there is nothing shameful about dancing, moving, or owning your body.

Pole dance is sensual, athletic, powerful, expressive, fluid, and strong—all at the same time. And it deserves to be recognised as exactly that.

So at Elements, we call it what it is: Pole Dance. No disclaimers. No watering it down. Just the full, unapologetic art form.
